We all know the classic nativity figures: the Holy Family, ox and donkey, shepherds and kings. But the Bible tells us more. Who was really there? ‘Who is who? And do the protagonists of the Christmas story still have something to tell us?
18 illuminated windows invite you on an interesting journey of discovery through the monastery. Behind each window you will encounter a character. Perhaps you will be amazed, or comforted, or provoked. There are people who believed in the birth of the Saviour Jesus Christ and set off on their journey. And others did not. There are people who predicted this birth and others who are deeply frightened by it. There are interesting relatives of the Holy Family. And actors who are not missing from any nativity scene but do not appear in the Christmas story at all. And there are people who recognised the great significance of this child and burst into jubilation.
Are you curious? Then head to the cot trail and discover what the figures and depictions have to say.
