Public mulled wine hike on 18 January 2025, at 2:30 pm

The Mühlhausen Tourist Information Centre is once again offering a guided mulled wine walk this year. The start is on 18 January 2025 at 14:30 at the Bratwurst Museum (Am Stadtwald 60). Each guest receives a thermo mug for the hike and four vouchers for filling the mug with mulled wine when purchasing a ticket at the Tourist Information Centre. After the mugs have been filled for the first time, the tour guide will give a 20-minute insight into the history of the town and accompany the group on the walk to the town centre. In order to be prepared for the long walk, the cup is filled again. During the walk, the tour guide provides interesting facts in an entertaining way and leads the guests to the end point, the Brauhaus zum Löwen, via another stopover.

For the transfer to the Bratwurst Museum, we recommend taking bus no. 5 from the Weißes Haus. The timetable can be found at www.regionalbus.de. The walk takes around 3 hours. The price for the guided tour, a thermo mug and 4 0.2 litre mulled wines is €29.90 per person.

Registration and ticket purchase for the mulled wine hike are required in advance at the Tourist Information Centre (Tel. 03601 404770). Participation and liability are at your own risk and is possible from the age of 18.

Book your tickets online now!

The Peasants' War of 1525 left its mark on the collective memory of German-speaking countries for generations. Thuringia was not only the scene of a decisive turning point in the uprising, but also the final place of activity of the radical reformer Thomas Müntzer. For these reasons, the Thuringian state government has decided to use the 500th anniversary of the German Peasants' War as an opportunity to host a Thuringian state exhibition in Mühlhausen and Bad Frankenhausen in 2025.

Various events will be organized in the Mühlhausen museums and in the Panorama Museum Bad Frankenhausen 2025 under the title "freiheyt 1525 - 500 years of the Peasants' War". Mühlhausen and Bad Frankenhausen are central locations for the historical events.

Duration of the exhibition in Mühlhausen: April 26 to October 19, 2025
Duration of the exhibition in Bad Frankenhausen: May 10 to August 17, 2025
