Water is a blessing and a curse. This also applies to the Unstrut. It drove mills, served as a swimming pool and its water was used for many other purposes. But floods also brought hardship and misery to the city and its citizens. The guided tour leads along the Unstrut from the Ammer Bridge to the Wagenstedt Bridge. The tour covers a wide range of topics from the bridges to the legend of the Unstrut mermaid. Registration for the tour is required in advance at the Tourist Information Mühlhausen, Tel. 03601 40 47 70. The meeting point for the tour is the Ammer Bridge. The tour ends after about 90 minutes at the Georgi Church.
