The 620th birthday of the Thuringian bratwurst is coming up and we cordially invite you to the New Year's reception on 20 January 2024 to start the festive year together. A special highlight of the event will be the joint consumption of a 140.4 metre long bratwurst snail consisting of 620 sausages. We have invited 130 Mühlhausen associations to honour their voluntary work and talk to them about joint projects.

The event starts at 11:00 a.m. with the entry of historical figures and a scenic performance by the Bratwurst Theatre, which pays tribute to the anniversary year. The "Bratwurst birthday song" will be performed in a world premiere. At 12:00 noon, the giant bratwurst and an anniversary cake will be cut. Our new bratwurst calendar will be presented and distributed free of charge. In addition to a review of the bratwurst events of the past year, you can look forward to the dates and projects planned for the current year.
