The world's largest hiking festival - the 122nd German Hiking Day - will take place in the Eichsfeld region in 2024. The traditional meeting of German hiking clubs will attract up to 30,000 hiking enthusiasts to the border region between Thuringia,

Lower Saxony and Hesse. A whole week of hiking, celebrating and enjoying!

The motto "SAGENHAFT GRENZENLOS" combines legendary trails along the German Fairytale Route with the region's unique location in the middle of Germany, on the Green Belt. The exciting history of the former border area is presented.
