"Half-timbered houses in Mühlhausen" on 26.05.2024, at 14:00 on the 10th German Half-Timbered House Day

Mühlhausen's town centre is still characterised by half-timbered houses today. The oldest half-timbered houses still standing date back to the 16th century. This is why Mühlhausen is also part of the regional route of the German Half-Timbered Road from the Harz Mountains to the Thuringian Forest. Many of the once plastered houses were remodelled after 1990 with half-timbering.

As part of the tour, details and ornamentation will be explained on some selected houses. The symbolism of certain half-timbered elements and the half-timbered construction method are also explained. The so-called Thuringian ladder is frequently found in Mühlhausen.

Meeting point for the guided tour on 26 May 2024 at 14:00 is the Tourist Information Mühlhausen in Ratsstraße 20. Registration is required in advance at the Tourist Information.

Participation fee: €10.00
