Public guided tour on Jewish life in Mühlhausen on 23.03.23, 6:00 p.m.

The development of Jewish life in Mühlhausen is the focus of the event with the specialist for culture/history, on Thursday 23 March at 6 pm. In a guided tour of the exhibition on the history of the town in the Museum of Cultural History and a short excursion to the home of a Jewish family on Lindenbühl, the focus will be on the family history of the Oppés. Since 1725, the Mühlhausen family owned a large cloth factory that officially supplied the Imperial Habsburg Court in Vienna with cloth goods. In the coat of arms granted by Emperor Leopold II in 1791, visitors can read the inscription "Kaiserlich Königlich privilegirte Fabric". The unique exhibition object of international standing has been part of the permanent exhibition Mühlhäuser STADTgeschichten since 2016.

The guided tour is part of the Thuringian Days of Jewish-Israeli Culture.
