Commitment as a nature park partner
The measures we have implemented at the Tourist Information Centre are based on the certification criteria of the Eichsfeld-Hainich-Werratal Nature Park. IWe are increasingly relying on digital booking and information services, thereby reducing our use of printed materials.
We promote initiatives that involve regional stakeholders and are aligned with the nature park’s objectives and guidelines.

The Mühlhausen Tourist Information Centre is an official partner of the Eichsfeld-Hainich-Werratal Nature Park. This certification is awarded to regional businesses and organisations that meet certain criteria set by the nature park. These include, amongst other things, facilitating experiences of nature and culture, and supporting the nature park’s objectives in the areas of landscape, biodiversity and regional development.Further information on the certification can be found here.
What does this mean for you as a visitor?
Locally selected offers: We promote offers and products from local producers and partner businesses.
Expert advice: Our team receives regular training on the nature park’s natural, cultural and environmental topics (at least two specialist training sessions per year). We also provide you with in-depth information on walking and cycling tours in the region.
Tangible savings in our day-to-day office operations: By switching to digital ticketing and booking systems for city tours, we avoid issuing paper receipts. At the Tourist Information Centre, we use recycled paper and sort our waste in accordance with the applicable guidelines.
The Tourist Information Centre promotes offers from regional providers and provides information on ways to explore the natural and cultural.
