We are open daily during the high season and offer a customer-oriented service with advice. You will find us in the immediate vicinity of the town hall at Ratsstraße 20.

Tourist Information Mühlhausen is part of Wirtschaftsbetriebe Mühlhausen GmbH and has various tasks. In addition to providing services for guests and citizens in the office, it produces brochures, develops new products and creates offers. Work in supra-regional tourist associations, such as the Thuringian Towns Association or the Bach Working Group, promotes marketing as a tourist location. Creating networks and working on joint projects is another area of activity.

As in the past year, the Tourist Information Mühlhausen offers numerous thematic special tours. This year's special guided tour series kicks off with a guided tour focusing on Johann Sebastian Bach on 21.03.2023, at 14:00. On this day, the composer celebrates his 338th birthday. New in the programme are the guided tours "Mühlhausen Industrial History, Part 5" and "500 Years of Reformation and Peasants' War" as well as "Strong Women". Three guided tours on Jewish life and the guided tour "Rieseninger Berg" complete the programme. WELCOME TO THE MEDIEVAL IMPERIAL CITY

JOIN US ON AN ADVENTURE TOUR OF THIS HISTORIC TOWN.

The medieval imperial town of Mühlhausen in Thuringia is steeped in history and is a gem with a historic town centre that is also an area monument. The nickname "muhlhousia turrita" - the tower-adorned Mühlhausen - originated as early as the Middle Ages. The name still applies today because no matter from which direction you approach the town the numerous church towers can be seen from afar.

The town's period of prosperity was in the Middle Ages and its stony witnesses still exist today. When exploring Mühlhausen, you can discover numerous Gothic churches, monuments, domestic architecture and half-timbered buildings as well as former mill sites. The entire historic town entre impresses and inspires at the same time.
